Pleasant sc real estate (as well as other areas in the charleston metropolitan region). They ask me about this because they want to know what they should expect when buying a home. I especially get these kinds of questions from first-time home buyers which is perfectly understandable since they are pretty much charting completely unfamiliar territory. The first thing I tell people that I see a lot are people looking for a home that simply doesn’t exist. They are either looking in a very desriable neighrbhood for a home in a price range that doesn’t exist there or they are just looking for the perfect fit which exists to some degree but let’s face it unless a home is built from the ground up according to exactly how you want it to be then there are going to be some compromises along the way that have to be made. I don’t say that to discourage anyone but the truth of the matter is that you will have to prepare yourself before you go searching for homes for some of these compromises that have to be made because on the never ending checklist of things you would want to have in a home (convenience, volume of traffic, school districts, physical features of the home, etc.) there will be compromises that have to be made. Now of course the more you can spend the less you will probably have to compromise but that isn’t always the case. Something else I also see a lot are people who are currently working with an agent who are actually out looking for a new agent or just another agent to work with. This is a big problem and as a potential buyer you should always make sure to stick with one agent and if you want to go with a new agent to inform your old agent since this is breaking an agency agreement and can lead to legal troubles in the future if it isn’t handled in the appropiate manner today especially if you have signed an exclusive right to buy agreement with an agent (it is the same thing as an exclusive right to sell agreement, the agent is agreeing to take you on as a client as long as you sign an agreement saying that they are owed a commission in the event that you buy within a specified time frame or whatever the specific stipulations of the contract are in the state you live in). These are just a couple of the things I see when people are buying real estate.
