My New Drum Kit

For Easter I am hoping to get a new drum set for my band. My band mates and I have been using a borrowed set of drums from where we are taking our lessons. Once I get my new drum kit, I will be able keep the drums in my basement and practice much more frequently. This will make my drum teacher happy. Ever since I started taking drum lessons in Toronto, his main complaint is that I never practice enough.

Tomorrow I am going out with my parents to look at the various options. My father wants to get me tradional african drums, and my mother wants me to get traditional carribean drums. Neither of them understand that I play in a heavy metal rock band and need a traditional drum kit. I am hoping when we go out this weekend that I will be able to make them understand what I need.

You know ‘the Guy’ I’m talking about. Thinks he’s funny, but he’s not. Thinks that it’s his job to entertain people, when actually it’s the job of recorded music and the love in the room. You may have seen ‘That Guy’ in action, or perhaps you have heard the horror stories of the ‘DJ that did this or that’. I think it’s terrifying and the way to avoid it is to simply ask, “How much time do you spend on the microphone?” The answer to this should be a definitive “Only as much as is absolutely necessary.” Here is a list of when a Loveland wedding DJ should actually talk:

1) When informing the guests of when it is time to sit down to welcome the couple.

2) Details about the meal.

3) To remind of a guestbook or something special concerning the couple.

The Compelling Link Between Mathematics and Kids Math Test Scores

Did you know that giving your child music lessons can improve their math skills? Piano lessons in particular, give students a boost in overall math scores. In 1999, Dr. Gordon Shaw conducted a study of three groups of second graders. Group one received piano lessons and a special math computer program. Group two received the math program plus English training. Group three received the standard classroom instruction and nothing else. After four months, the results of the experiment were tallied. The students who received piano lessons with the computer math program scored 15-41 percent higher on math tests involving ratios and fractions than the other two groups. A similar experiment conducted in 2000 confirmed that students receiving piano lessons performed better in mathematics.The study of music and improvement in math seem to be closely connected. With such a strong collection of evidence linking music and academics, I feel inclined to give my own children this advantage.

How to Sound Like Jimi Hendrix

Hendrix also used (on occasion) the Octavia ahead of the Fuzz Face and this helped him to produce higher octaves that would be mixed in and which produced sounds that were more aggressive. He also made ample us of the Wah pedal and this was used on his first record album called Axis Bold as Love.

Hire Party Bands in Hampshire

I belonged in a planning committee for the 30th homecoming of our high school in Hampshire. The homecoming date is still two months away but our group has been meeting every Saturday to make sure that everything is in place and to report developments in each sub-committees.

During one meeting, the committee on entertainment asked the entire group of any suggestions that we have regarding what kind of entertainment we would like to have. There were suggestions given and I pitched in the idea of having live music during the homecoming night itself.

There are many party bands hampshire that I have heard play in some events that I have attended in the past years. These bands can play any music that the host would request and they have also a very rich library of music that hosts can choose from. Nothing beats real live bands compared to music supplied by a stereo.
